Q. What was the symptom / problem with the orignal part?
A.Ignored the [the globe is due to be changed light] Got 2 weeks extra before it failed

Q. Did this part fix the problem, and was it easy to fit?
A.LG rear projection tv.
After removing outer access door just 2 screws hold globe holder in place there is a gap between the globe holder and the outer case put some rag in the gap in case you drop the screws .. there is no need to buy the whole globe holder like the factory says., its a simple plastic box with 4screws holding the lid . Mark with felt tip pen to retain correct orientation I used cotton gloves to handle the globe. Total time about 15mins --oh and buy the globe from here they are the cheapest and the quickest. 03/03/2009

A.As luck would have I can across a nice sony VPL-X600M HD projector. It just needed a lamp and some TLC.

A.Tv was showing LAMP LIFE OVER ERROR and the manual requested that we change the lamp as it had almost used 8500 hours

A.Yes replacement of the lamp was fairly easy to fit, we also had to reset the lamp hours clock (this was a little more difficult to do but we managed in the end) and the problem was fixed 01/07/2008

A.LG Model 52SZ8R-TB - Remove Lamp cover on Right Hand Side of TV to expose Lamp housing. Undo screws and pull out housing .
Remove screws from housing to expose Lamp
Remove lamp and replace with new one being careful not to touch the lamp with bare hands (use cotton gloves )
Reassemble in reverse order. 30/01/2011

A.The lamp shattered/blew inside the TV after ignoring the lamp life over warning.

Q. Did this part fix the problem, and was it easy to fit?
A.Removing the lamp is simple. 2 screws secure the lamp housing inside the TV. Remove the housing backing plate, 4 screws. Then remove the lamp and power cable, 6 screws in all. Pay attention to the way the lamp is located. 13/05/2010

A.Loud bang, sounded like breaking globe and the picture on the screen faded away.

A.Undid the cover on the right side of the TV,(2 Phillip screws) removed 2 move screws on square with pull out handle. Pulled out globe container, removed 4 screws on cover to access globe. Undid screws on clamps holding globe in place. Used cotton gloves to handle new globe and screwed the clamps back in place. Make sure the globe goes back in the same way as the old one. Replace cover and replace in TV. 03/04/2011

A.Basically pull out a box which contains the bulb.
Take a few screws out of the box to release the bulb.
Undo two wires from bulb.
Replace the wires with new supplied ones.
Re-attach the bulb screws.
Put the bulb box back into tv.
