Remove door skin; remove two retaining screws from existing unit; install new unit. I re-used the original microswitch as there was nothing wrong with it; reinstall door skin. Job done - yep its that simple. Youll do this entire job with a phillips head screwdriver and around 20 minutes of time. Be sure your dishwasher is unplugged before you start.

Before fitting part engage latch with male part dishwasher side to ensure latch is in correct position. The part can then simply be fitted and the dishwasher is ready to use. Found out the hard way so repair to a bit longer than anticipated. Otherwise repair is only about a 15 minute job.

Disconnect from electricity, and plumbing. Pull back off dishwasher, lean dishwasher forwards for good access to heating element, disconnect cables undo steel clamps 2 - 1 at each end then do all the above in reverse voila. Dishwasher still shows err3 which suggests heating control processor which I wont do - this whirlpool dishwasher is notoriously unreliable - time for a different brand.

Remove the cover from the bottom of the dishwasher. Locate and unclip and unplug the old temp sensor and clean off the old white thermal paste from dishwasher. Apply some new thermal paste to the new temp sensor I used computer cpu paste. Then clip it back into place and reconnect the plug. Finally replace the bottom cover on the dishwasher.

Symptom water in pan at bottom of dishwasher causes LCD display to indicate fault when the float trips its micro switch or the dishwasher may stop completely due to corroded main lead termination. The part is accessible from the back of appliance behind the plastic panel. Unscrew the nut inside dishwasher and release hose clamp at the heater end a bit of a fiddle. Remove the tube and its associated hose. If the clamp between the hose and tube cannot be reused, tie wire may be used instead. Seal the joints on the hose with a suitable adhesive read temperature rating - these parts get pretty hot. Tighten retainer nut on its washer to snug tight plus say a quarter turn.
